Odyssey of a Cockroach

2003

Itinerant exhibition held on October 2003
Unnumbered pages, 13 x 13 cm.

Shown for the first time at the New York's Jeffrey Deich Gallery,
then from February to March 2004 at the
London Institute of Contemporary Art, from May to June 2007,
Moscow becomes the third city, after New York and London,
where Yoko Ono's huge project, which had already attained the world fame,
would be presented to a large audience.

The project Odyssey of a Cockroach comprises colour wall-size photos
as big as a bill-board, representing harsh scenes from the street:
a bloody murder, a bombed-out building, a starving child.
Huge grotesque objects: a six-foot rubbish bin overflowing
with body plaster casts, an impossibly large model of a mouse
trap for humans and hundreds of old discarded shoes, whose
owners are long forgotten provide a very dramatic theme.
