SENSE SOUND / SOUND SENSE. FLUXUS MUSIC, SCORES & RECORDS
3 September 2019 - 2 February 2020 / Whitechapel Gallery, London
Sense Sound / Sound Sense, an exhibition project dedicated to musical scores, records and the relationship with music of the Fluxus and ZAJ movements, is hosted from September 3, 2019 to February 2, 2020 at the Whitechapel Gallery in London.
Sense Sound / Sound Sense, was first presented in 2016 from the collaboration among Fondazione Bonotto and Fondazione Musica per Roma Foundation , is a project curated by Patrizio Peterlini and Walter Rovere.
The exhibition proposes a reasoning on scores and musical notation in the context of Fluxus and ZAJ. Recognized over time by the most influential artistic movements of the twentieth century, anticipators of entire successive artistic currents, they presented all their public events as concerts.
A new edition of the fully illustrated exhibition catalogue that includes texts in Italian and English by the curators and of the artist Alison Knowles, will be published by Danilo Montanari.
This is the first exhibition in the United Kingdom of the Luigi Bonotto Collection, the largest collection of Fluxus documents in Italy.
